Tribute of The Week: Billy Joel
the piano man is probably one of the greatest musicians i’ve ever listened to. all of his songs are a beautiful rock/pop fusion with elements of a bit of everything mixed in at times. now, i could honor this guy any day, but this is his week this year. he just had announced a rock band track pack coming out next week, and not only that, but next year will mark the 40th anniversary of his very first album Cold Spring Harbor, which while it doesn’t have many recognizable tracks, it did eventually evolve him into his next CD, the piano man. over his long career, he’s won numerous awards and had hundreds of hit singles, and is still going strong to this day (although he didn’t tour this year, which is disappointing, but he plans to start back next year). mr. joel, this may not seem like a big reward to you, but we’d like to give you an invisible trophy from all us young listeners who still appreciate a true artist like yourself.
